An antique Japanese Meiji Era covered enamel over brass jar. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. The sphere form ware is enameled with polychrome medallions with flowers and geometrical compositions surrounded by floral and swirl patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The cover is adorned with polychrome floral, butterfly, swirl, cloud, and geometrical motifs made in the same technique and a figural finial on the top. The neck of the ware is decorated with polychrome floral, and geometrical ornaments made in the same technique. The base is adorned with polychrome butterfly, scaly, and geometrical ornaments made in the same technique. The ground is inlaid with a Goldstone. Unmarked.
