An antique early 19th century Russian Orthodox icon representing The Mother of God and Eight Saints. A mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon is covered with a Silver riza or oklad, a protecting case with repousse decor. Each saint is named on the riza upper to the center. Circa: 1808. Marked with a standard Silver hallmark, and other Cyrillic and Assay marks. Antique Russian Religious Items and Collectibles.
