A lot of three mid-century Russian lacquered trinket boxes with hinged lids. Black hand-painted boxes with red interior, each piece is signed on the lid. A couple in traditional Russian costumes, titled The Scarlet Flower. A boy with a flute sitting under a tree, titled Lel. A multi-figure scene, titled Snegurochka and Lel. All items are executed in Fedoskino, a local Russian school of lacquer painting, by Vasily Ivanovich Lavrov, 1894-1951, one of the most prominent artists of Fedoskino. The Scarlet Flower, also known as The Little Red Flower, is a Russian folk tale written by Sergey Aksakov. Snegurochka or The Snow Maiden is a character in Russian fairy tales.
