An antique wooden hand painted candle holder and a bowl. Presumably of Russian or Ukrainian origin. The Slavic three candle holder was made from a variety of materials, including wood, and was traditionally lit on Christmas Eve. The item is painted red and decorated with bells hanging from the edges. The deep wooden bowl raised on a base is decorated with rhythmic folk patterns in red and black.
