A pair of antique 19th-century Indian miniature paintings on enamel plaques. British Raj period. Oval format. The artworks depicts profile portraits of a royal couple, Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Blue velvet mat, golden standing frames. Shah Jahan I was Mughal emperor from 1628 until 1658. The Taj Mahal in Agra, one of the Wonders of the World, was commissioned by him to act as the tomb of his first wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Overall good antique condition. One frame doesn't have a glass. Signs of wear and Age. Refer to photos. Sold as is.
