Lot 0263: AMERICAN KEN INGRID HANSON HAND BLOWN ART GLASS VASE

41 reviews

A Modern American hand blown art glass vase made by Ken Hanson and Ingrid Hanson, Contemporary American artists. The hand formed vase has a globular shaped body and a fluted neck. The exterior of the vase is adorned with Murrina millefiori flowers and gold leaf on the purple ground. Signed with etching, on the bottom. Ken and Ingrid Hanson have worked together since their early college years. Although traditional Italian and Swedish glassblowing techniques inspire them, they employ a bold and innovative color palette to create their unique, contemporary art glass. The artists pay great attention to the detail of the surface decoration on their vessels. They first create brightly colored stripes and shapes using hand formed cane and murrini, and then, during the blowing process, they fuse these inclusions onto the surface of the glass. They also often include 24K gold and pure silver leaf in many of their pieces. Modern and Contemporary American Hand Made Glass Vases, Desk Wares, Home Decor, Interior Design, and Collectibles.
