An antique 19th century Russian icon of St. George. The mixed media icon with egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood panel with gold leaf patterns. Depicts St. George standing, dressed in Roman armor and a red cape, and holding a spear weapon in his hands. Inscribed in Church Slavonic in the central right and left parts. Framed by a wooden gilt frame. Inscribed on the backside. Antique Russian Icons For Collectors.
Overall good vintage condition. Signs of wear and age. Has some stains and scuffs. Has chips and cracks in paint and wood. Missing back piece to kiot. Refer to photos. Sold as is.
