An antique Russian icon of the Kazan Mother of God hand painted on a wooden board. Circa 19th to 20th century. The prototype of the icon was found back in 1579 in Kazan. The Virgin is depicted frontally, with a slight tilt of the head towards Jesus. On one arm of the Virgin sits the Infant Jesus Christ.
