An antique Russian Orthodox icon of Saint Nicholas, traditionally depicted as a bishop delivering a blessing and holding a book of Gospels surrounded by four Evangelists. A mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wooden board. The icon is overlaid with a 84 gilded Silver oklad or riza, adorned with chased and engraved detailed patterns.
