An antique Russian Orthodox icon depicting St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. This hand-painted icon, rendered in gesso and egg tempera on a wood board, portrays the saint in his bishops vestments. St. Nicholas is depicted with his right hand raised in blessing and holding an open Gospel book in his left hand. Flanking him in round aureoles are the Mother of God and Christ, while St. Anna and St. Vasily are depicted on the right and left sides, respectively. Circa the mid late 19th century.
