An American Legion Forty and Eight veterans medal. Blue ribbon with a medal depicting a military railway carriage, a top bar with title US American Legion, La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux, and 9 bars with various ranks, including Chef de Gare, Chef de Train, Grand Commis Voyageur, Cheminot, Grand Chef de Gare, Conducteur, Grand Chef de Train, Alternate Cheminot National, Cheminot National. The Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses is a patriotic organization of US veterans founded in 1920 as an honor society of The American Legion and it still functions today.
