Lot 0051: MODERN ISRAELI MOROCCAN OIL PAINTING BY RUTH ELBAHAR

41 reviews

Ruth Elbahar, Israeli, Moroccan, born 1945, oil painting on canvas depicting an Expressionist scene. Signed lower right. Circa: 1980s. Framed. Provenance: the artwork listed here is guaranteed authentic, from the Khodorkovsky Art Collection, USA. Ruth Elbahar is a painter born in 1945 in Casablanca, a member of the Association of Painters and Sculptors of Israel. She has currently lived in Paris for around ten years. After training at the AVNI Institute in Tel Aviv, she became the assistant to the Professor Yaacov Wexler. She has presented her works at numerous exhibitions in Israel and France since 1981. Her painting was initially very expressive, showing cities Mediterranean seaside resorts and colorful characters. Ruth Elbahar has now moved on to more abstract painting in large formats with energetic and truculent chromatism. When seeing Ruth Elbahars paintings, all the scents and colors of the Mediterranean resurface. One of a kind artwork.
