William Bauer was born in Saint Louis in 1888. He studied at the St. Louis School of Fine Arts as well as the Washington University School of Art, alongside Oscar Berninghaus and Fred Carpenter. He was a painter, illustrator, and designer. He was a member of the Saint Louis Artists Guild, and won an award for his work exhibited with them. He also had his work exhibited at the Carnegie Institute and the Kansas City Art Institute. One of a kind artwork.
