An antique late 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon representing Jesus in the Christ Pantocrator iconography, known in the Western Christianity as Christ in Majesty. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Gilt silver riza or oklad with repousse decor. Titled in Church Slavonic in the bottom middle Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers marks are on the front of the riza. The backside is lined with red velvet. Original label sticker of the Saint-Petersburg jewelry store of M.I. Sinyakov is preserved. Miniature format of this lot indicates that it was part of a wedding couple, a composition of two icons, the Savior and the Most Holy Mother of God, which are commonly used during the sacrament of the wedding for blessing.
