An antique German WMF Art Nouveau silver plated pickle jar. Consists of three parts, a crystal jar, a silver plated frame on high elegant legs and a lid. Circa 1903. Hallmarked. Has the WMF mark with running ostrich, an abbreviation for the full name of the company Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik, which is translated from German as Wuttemberg Metal Products Factory. I/O for Normal thickness of gilding or silver-plating. Note: In 1853, Daniel Straub, a miller from Geislingen, joined forces with the Schweizer Brothers to form the Metallwarenfabrik Straub and Schweizer in Geislingen.
