A pair of antique Baroque allegorical female figurines hand carved from wood, most likely boxwood. Circa the late 18th century. Both female figures have crowns and are dressed in the flowing European robes of saints characteristic of the Renaissance period. In the hands of one lady there is a scroll, in the hands of the other, obviously, a book. On the back side of both figures there is an even cut and there are holes. In all likelihood, the objects were attached to the wall of the church. Beautiful finesse in the execution. Carved Antique Religious Sculptures For Collectors. Home Decor.
