An antique Chinese patinated statue of Buddha. The statue depicts Shakyamuni Buddha in a meditative posture holding a cup filled with the nectar of supreme joy, seated on a lotus petal pedestal base. The figure is adorned with engraved detailed patterns and gold patinated. The figure is dressed in a long flowing robe detailed with draping folds and engraved with floral and scrollwork motifs, loosely open at the bare chest. The snails on the head of Buddha are adorned with dark patina. The base is engraved with traditional ornaments. Marked under the base. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
