An antique Chinese, late Qing Dynasty, patinated hand carved wooden sculpture. The artwork represents Guanyin, a Chinese Bodhisattva associated with compassion. The goddess is dressed in flowing robes and holding a scroll in her left hand, the right hand is in the Shuni mudra, seated on a double lotus flower base. The sculpture and the base are engraved with traditional detailed patterns, and adorned with gold and red patina. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Unmarked.
