An antique Japanese, late Meiji era, Ginbari enamel vase. The ground of the vase is enameled in a black shade. The vase is enameled with polychrome images of blossoming Iris flowers made in the Ginbari Cloisonne technique. Ginbari is a Japanese Cloisonne technique when clear enamel is laid over a stippled silver layer applied to the copper sheet body. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
