An antique Meiji period Japanese cloisonne enamel brass plate. The central part depicts an elegant motif with butterflies flying around the central stylized chrysanthemum, a symbol of the Japanese Emperor, on a goldstone ground. Features elegant floral and scrolled foliage patterns to the border. The backside is also adorned with scrolls and flowers on a light turquoise ground. Circa 1868 to 1912.
