A Russian Imperial badge of the 30th Poltava Infantry Regiment. The badge is a silver laurel half-wreath holding an oval shield covered in blue enamel. The wings of the silver oxidized double headed eagle, beneath the three gold Imperial crowns, are leaning on the upper edges of the wreath. On the breast of the eagle is a gold shield covered in red enamel with the gold number 100. Beneath the eagle is a silver St. George ribbon tied in a bow with the gold dates 1798 and 1898. Beneath the eagle's wings, on the shield, is the silver number 30 and the Cyrillic letter P. On the base part of the shield there is the gold star of the order of St. George and the gold cyphers of the Emperors Paul I and Nicholas II beneath the gold Imperial crowns. The branches of the wreath are bound by a gold ribbon with the inscription in Russian translated as: WE MAY DIE BUT WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER in black enamel.
