First. A portrait of an Afghan man with a gun. Signed by the artist, dated May 23, 1931 and titled Un Turcoman, Heirat in the lower right. Second. A portrait of a Mongolian woman in traditional clothing. Signed by the artist, dated 1931 and titled illegibly in the lower right. Wooden frames. Between 1931 and 1932, Yakovelev was the Artistic Adviser of a Citroen expedition across Asia.
