Abraham Manievich, aka Abram Manevich, Russian, American, 1881 to 1942, double sided oil paintings on masonite board. The first depicts a lying male nude figure. The backside painting depicts a cityscape in the Fauvism manner. Signed on the frame, on the backside. Circa the early 20th century. Framed. Abraham Manievich is known for Village scenes, mod Fauve still life painting. Abraham A. Manievich was known as a Post Impressionist landscape painter. His subjects were Ukrainian and Lithuanian village and country scenes, and street scenes of Moscow, Kiev, and Petrograd. He painted in a bold Fauvist style, and exhibited with the important French Fauvists. He received critical acclaim for his first solo exhibition at the famed Durand Ruel Gallery in Paris,1913.. His work is in the National Art Museum of Ukraine and in major museums and private collections in the United States, Canada, France, Israel, Russia, and Ukraine.
