A miniature French Limoges hand enameled porcelain jewelry or trinket case or box. The box is adorned with gilded floral and foliage motifs. A lid features a gilded scrollwork medallion depicting a scene after the original oil painting on canvas, The Prodigal Son in a Tavern, Self Portrait with Saskia on Her Knees, 1635, by Rembrandt, Dutch, 1606 to 1669. The Prodigal Son in a Tavern is a self portrait of Rembrandt with his wife Saskia, in which they are presented as heroes of the biblical parable of the Prodigal Son.
