Lot 0260: GERMAN SCHEIBE ALSBACH MILITARY PORCELAIN FIGURES

A pair of German Scheibe Alsbach polychrome painted porcelain figurines, La Fayette and Bertrand. The figurines are adorned with gilt accents and depicting French military leaders standing atop grassy terrain bases. Each is titled on the front of the base. Inscribed with the years of life, on the backside. Each is marked with a traditional blue ink hallmark, an impressed script, and numbered 12753, under the base. Circa: Mid to the late 20th Century. Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roche Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de La Fayette, Lafayette, 1757 to 1834, was a French and American politician. Participated in three revolutions: the American War of Independence, the French Revolution and the July Revolution of 1830. Henri Gatien Bertrand, 1773 to 1844, was a French general who served during the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars.
