An antique mid-19th century Austrian gilt bronze footed trinket box or casket with hinged lid. The sides of the piece are set with hand-painted enamel panels. The plauqes depict Rococo galant scenes in landscape scenery. A wind-up clock is mounted in the upper right corner of the lid, white dial with Roman numerals and gilt accents. The bronze parts are richly decorated with ornamental reliefs. The inside of the box is lined with velvet. The inner side of the lid is also garnished with an enamel painting which represents a seascape with sailing ship. Weight: 1011 grams.
