A pair of high quality identical Japanese enamel over brass plates or saucers. The wares are made in a floral design with scalloped rims. The interiors of the wares are enameled with a polychrome image of a butterfly and flowers on red ground to the center surrounded by floral, foliage, and butterfly patterns made in the Cloisonne technique; the backside of the ware is decorated with a scaly ornament on turquoise ground.
