A Russian 84 Silver and enamel kovsh. The traditional shaped kovsh with a round shaped foot and raised handle. A gilt wash interior. The exterior of the kovsh is enameled with blue, cobalt blue, red, and green floral and geometrical patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The exterior is adorned with an enameled plaque depicting a scene with Ivan Tsarevich on the Gray Wolf after the original oil painting, 1889, by Viktor Vasnetsov. Marked with a standard Silver hallmark, and other Cyrillic marks, on the bottom. The ware features Silver elements made in a swirl design. Viktor Mikhaylovich Vasnetsov, Russian, 1848 to 1926, was a Russian artist who specialized in mythological and historical subjects. He is considered the co founder of Russian folklorist and romantic nationalistic painting also neo romanticism, and a key figure in the Russian revivalist movement.
