A vintage Japanese covered and amphora shaped enamel over brass ginger jar. The exterior of the jar is enameled with polychrome images of Phoenix birds surrounded by floral, foliage and scrollwork motifs on turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The domed cover is decorated with repeating stylized floral motifs, and geometrical ornaments, made in the Cloisonne technique, and a brass finial made in an openwork floral design.
