An authentic Faberge carved jade, gilded silver and enamel card case made as a presentational gift for an officer of the Hussar Grand Duke of the Saxe-Weimar Regiment (Ingrian), workmaster Henrik Wigstrom, St. Petersburg, circa 1890 - 1910. The jade body of a tapering trapezoidal shape, placed on a gilt silver base with repousse decorative motifs and raised on four feet. The front part has a military decoration representing a skilfully crafted hussar garment made of gilded silver, partially covered with cobalt blue enamel, with a medal featuring the cipher of Emperor Alexander I. Marked Faberge and with the workmasters mark: HW. Note: Henrik Immanuel Wigstrom, 1862 to 1923, was a Finnish silver and goldsmith, was one of the most important Faberge workmasters along with Michael Perchin. Perchin was the head workmaster from 1886 until his death in 1903, when he was succeeded by his chief assistant Henrik Wigstrom.
