Inscription in Russian on the bottom: Here is depicted the Mircaulous Theotokos of Akhtyr that appeared on July 2nd, 1739. According to the legend, the icon appeared to the priest of the town of Akhtyrka, Russia on a hayfield. After placing it in the temple, the icon began to work miracles.
