Elena Vladimirovna Semenova, Russian Soviet, 1898 to 1986, watercolor painting on cardboard, 1943, illustration to a novel Stalingrad by Theodor Plievier, 1892 to 1955. Signed with initials and dated lower left. A plate showing detailed information about the artwork lower right. Theodor Otto Richard Plivier is a German writer, and author of a trilogy about World War II, including the novels Stalingrad, Moscow, and Berlin. Elena Semenova was a well-known Russian and Soviet Avant-Garde Constructivist graphic artist and designer. She studied at Vkhutemas. Semenova was associated with LEF, Vladimir Mayakovsky, and the constructivist circle of Aleksander Rodchenko. One of a kind artwork.

Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. Refer to photos. Sold As Is.
