An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon of St. Stephen of Perm, a 14th-century painter and missionary venerated by both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. Travel icon of miniature size. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Gilt silver riza or oklad with repousse and engraved decor.
