An antique German Meissen hand painted polychrome porcelain figure. The figure depicts a lady wearing a blue jacket decorated with flowers, a striped patterned underskirt and a purple overskirt embellished with green flowers, seated in a high backed, gilt edged armchair holding a book in her right hand, a spinning wheel on a gilt edged table to her side. Mounted on a relief base, moulded with gilt edged scrollwork. Circa: late 19th century. Design by J. J. Kaendler. Marked with an underglazed blue crossed swords mark, a red mark, and numbered, 2685, on the bottom.
