A Mid 20th century Russian Balkan hand carved Kalkan Jasper and marble specimen box mounted with Sterling Silver. The box is adorned with figural scrollwork elements on the sides. Marked on the bottom. This superb box was made of Kalkan jasper, named after Lake Kalkan in the Southern Urals, where this coloured hardstone was excavated.
