A highly collectible ancient Chinese unglazed earthenware molded horse figurine, Han dynasty, Ca. 200-100 BC. The horse is depicted in a dynamic pose with one leg raised. It has a powerful neck and a neatly modeled head with convex eyes, ears pricked and teeth bared. Real horse hair would have been inserted into the open ridge running the length of the neck. Such figurines were made to be placed into a tomb. Chinese Terracotta Sculptures, Religious And Spiritual Objects, Oriental Historical Collectibles.
