In Buddhism, lokapala refers to the Four Heavenly Kings, and to other protector spirits, whereas the Guardians of the Directions are referred to as the dikpalas. The warriors are depicted standing in a powerful pose and in ornate armor, holding a foot atop a ram.. His well-modelled face has a belligerent expression and his hands are clenched into fists.
