Raoul Dufy, French, 1877 to 1953, a watercolor on paper painting depicting a landscape with a village on the shore of a water pond with floating boats and mountains in the distance. Signed by the artist to the lower right. Matted. The Throckmorton Fine Art gallery paper label with the info about the painting is attached to the backside. Provenance: from the collection of Spencer Throckmorton. Note: Raoul Dufy, a French Fauvist painter, later Cubist. He developed a colorful, decorative style that became fashionable for designs of ceramics and textiles. He is noted for scenes of open-air social events. He was also a draftsman, printmaker, book illustrator, scenic designer, designer of furniture, and planner of public spaces. One of a kind artwork. European Fine Art For Collectors.
