A very rare and fine continental faience painted earthenware charger, likely from Creil-Montereau. The charger depicts a woman in nineteenth French century attire on beaded silver ground with fleur-de-lis motif. The background around the portrait is done with a layer of small glass balls that give an effect between mosaic and tapestry. Signed: E. Pages, on the lower left. Carries two early 20th century paper labels, including a label of C.W. Firnhaber and Co. Circa 1900.
