Trained at Guildford School of Art, 1957 to 62, where he specialized in carving and terracotta modelling, then at the Royal Academy Schools, where he won the silver medal for sculpture. Worked for the Royal Mint as engraver, designer, 1965 to 68; then at the Franklin Mint, 1968 to 73. Fellow of the Royal Society of British Sculptors.
