A pair of Thai gilt bronze sculptures depicting Thephanom or Guardian Angel holding a musical instrument or a yarn in their hands. The Thepanom first came to earth when Buddha reached enlightenment. They became Buddhas protectors, then guardians of religious temples and artifacts such as scrolls. Thephanom are often represented as a pair, brother and sister, kneeling on both knees with hands in position, praying or offering respect, or holding various subjects in their hands.
