A Hungarian hand made and hand painted porcelain figurine by Herend Hvngary. The figurine depict a cat stretching and playing with a ball, hand painted with a blue and white fishnet pattern and accented with 24 karat gold. Marked with a blue ink factory stamp, numbered 15309 VHB D95, 319, on the bottom. Circa: 20th century. Herend is known for its long history of producing the finest hand painted porcelain worldwide. Herends trademark fishnet pattern design, which is most popular in the U.S., originated in 1858 when an artist intrigued with a Chinese plates fish scale design painted it onto a rooster figurines breast to imitate feathers.
