An antique Japanese Meiji Era lidded enamel metal censer koro. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. The sphere form jar is enameled with images of dragons and a flaming pattern made in the Cloisonne technique on a black ground, and inlaid with a Goldstone. The base and the neck are decorated with a traditional geometrical pattern. The censer is adorned with a technique of using metal powders to give a glitter effect to the enamel. Unmarked.
