An antique French Sevres hand painted porcelain gilt bronze and porcelain casket box. The exterior of the box is adorned with gilded foliage and scrollwork patterns, and hand painted medallion gallant scenes with courting couples after the original paintings by Jean Honore Fragonard, French, 1732 to 1806. Signed by the artist, Maugere. Opening to a floral fabric lined interior. Marked with a blue ink manufacturer stamp on the bottom. Circa: late 19th century.
