A pair of Pre-columbian Mesoamerican Mexican Veracruz hand-crafted ceramic ceremonial pieces. The pieces depict Remojades style head fragments wearing traditional headdresses and accessories, the rounded style and upturned face that distinguishes the Tarascans from their contemporaries the Zapotecans and the Aztecs. Anthropologists and archaeologists have interpreted the upturned face as a means of expressing adoration, probably for a god. Veracruz, Mexico. Circa: 400 A.D. The Remojadas culture is considered part of the larger Classic Veracruz culture. Mounted to clear glass stands.
