The lot includes a brass tribal figurine depicting a man with a drum behind his back and holding the tail of an alligator with his left hand. mounted on a round base with relief images of turtles and lizards. A cast metal copy of the statue of Guatama Buddha from Gandhara, 2nd or 3rd century. The statue depicts Buddha cross-legged in meditation with his hands resting in his lap. Mounted on a rectangular base decorated with bas-relief below showing a bodhisattva surrounded by devotees. A vintage brass figurine depicting an Indian woman raised on a piramide base signed India, Catalina, Cartagena, Colombia. India Catalina, 1495 to 1538, was an indigenous child of Mokana ethnicity from the Colombian Atlantic coast, who accompanied Pedro de Heredia as an interpreter and intermediary, playing a role in the Spanish conquest of Colombia.
