A rare antique Russian commemorative glass beaker made by the Imperial Glass Factory and dated circa the 1810s. Of the cylindrical form with protruding ribs, a wide gilt rim on top and around the oval white glass medallion painted with a portrait of Emperor Alexander I on the one side and his crowned cipher on the other. Apparently unmarked. The Imperial Porcelain Factory was the main glassware supplier of the Russian court. It was established by Dmitry Ivanovich Vinogradov in 1744 and was supported by the Russian tsars since Empress Elizabeth.
