An antique Russian late 19th century cast bronze sculpture by the talented Russian sculptor Evgeny Lanceray. The sculpture composition depicts a scene of the farewell kiss of a Cossack with his beloved. Standing up on the stirrup, the loving wife escorts her warrior husband with a farewell kiss. Raised on a naturalistically modeled base, signed in the Cyrillic: Sculpted by E. Lanceray; F. Chopin. The model was created in 1878 and originally cast in bronze at the Felix Chopin establishment. The theme of the parting of a Cossack with a Cossack woman was also reflected in the bronze sculptures of Vasily Grachev and Albert Moritz Wolf.
