A museum quality late 19th century French bronze sculpture composition The Centaur Teree carrying to his lair a bear taken in the Hemus Mountains, by Emmanuel Fremiet. Raised on a naturalistic bronze base, signed: E Fremiet. The surface is covered with a beautiful rich green patina. Emmanuel Fremiet, 1824 to 1910, was a French sculptor. He is famous for his 1874 sculpture of Joan of Arc in Paris and the monument to Ferdinand de Lesseps in Suez.
