Aminadav Kanevsky, Russian Soviet, 1898 to 1976, mixed media, ink and watercolor, painting on a thick paper, Innovations and Nature. Circa: 1930s. Signed lower right. Provenance: The painting comes from the collection of Viktor Kholodkov, 1948 to 2015, who fulfilled his passion for books, avant grade design and paper memorabilia by devoting his life to collecting and dealing of prominent works of Russian graphic art of the first half of the 20th century. Aminadav Kanevsky is a famous Russian Soviet graphic artist, a master of book illustration and caricature. People's Artist of the USSR 1973, member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR 1973. Aminadav Kanevsky was a member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia. At the end of the twenties, constant cooperation began in the magazines Pioneer and Give, in the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, from the mid thirties in Crocodile. Aminadav Kanevsky is the author of illustrations for the childrens books The Golden Key by A. N. Tolstoy 1942 to 1943 and 1950, Moidodyr by K. I. Chukovsky 1950, for the works of M. E. Saltykov Shchedrin, N. V. Gogol, VV Mayakovsky, as well as caricatures and satirical posters. In 1937, Aminadav Kanevsky created the image of Murzilk, which became famous in the USSR. One of a kind artwork.
